Dinner and Politics is designed for people in Black communities across Canada to engage over a meal with each other in the place of their choice (homes, offices, libraries, restaurants, barbershops, recreation rooms) to discuss and share ideas for engagement in the 2019 federal election. Dinner and Politics was launched on Sunday, February 3, 2019 in Ottawa. Due to overwhelming requests, Dinner and Politics will continue after the federal election and will be one of our signature events.
Our hope is that in providing this opportunity, members of Black communities across the country will engage in civic conversation while thinking about this year’s federal election.
A survey will be prepared from the feedback gathered through these discussions and shared with federal parties. Their responses will be posted on websites for our communities to see and use to inform their voting decisions this fall.
We are looking for individuals to participate by attending a dinner near you, or hosting an event yourself.
